  • Approach

A new generation of entrepreneurs uses innovation and entrepreneurial means to tackle social and environmental challenges. Whether they revolutionize production technology in the garment sector, create entrepreneurial services for refugees or tailor mobile solutions for underserved communities, those entrepreneurs have proven to be highly effective in tackling some of the world's most pressing social and environmental challenges.

But impact-driven entrepreneurs are not able to unfold their full potential. They lack financial capital in addition to human and social capital especially in the early stages of their development. This dilemma is called the 'pioneer gap.'

Finance for Change was created as a catalytic offering to make the nascent field of impact- oriented investing and innovative finance accessible to a wider audience. In both the D-A-CH region and other European countries, Finance for Change is creating a community of practitioners to facilitate investment for financial and societal returns.

  • Testimonials

The testimonials from our first two Finance for Change Bootcamps at Impact Hub Berlin in 2016

Philipp Haydn, Impact Angel Investor & Entrepreneur, Austria

"I got a lot out of Finance4Change. In addition to the exciting content I found the intimate setting of the event especially valuable - you could easily get into a conversation with other participants and because of many common interests, there were immediate connections for sharing experiences or probing future possibilities for cooperation."

Klaus Naeve, Head Philanthropic Advisory Services, Joh. Berenberg, Gossler & Co. KG, Hamburg

"As a person who is curious and keen to learn I attended the F4C Investor Bootcamp in order to expand my horizon, my knowledge and my network in relation to Impact Investing - all of it has been achieved ! The interactive design, the contribution of a wide range and highly competent experts and the mix of participants has been very valuable to hear different perspectives and to facilitate an exchange of these different groups. Anja and Leon have managed to set up a great format and I hope they will manage to create a series of offerings! "

Franziska Heidenreich, My Climate, Head Climate Protection Projects and Member of the Management Committees, Zürich

"Diving into the impact investing world for two days was not only very enjoyable: the inputs, contacts as well as the exchange with excellent trainers and mixed participants helped me to take my own ideas a big step forward.”

Dr Martin Reck, Managing Director, German Stock Exchange

"I thoroughly enjoyed your event in Berlin and benefited a lot from it. I now have a much better understanding about the way investors look at projects, firms and funds from an impact investment perspective and about the current state of the market with regard to different market segments."

Daniela Deuber, Senior Manager, BMW Foundation

"Great overview for those interested in impact investing touching a broad range of topics and actors: from the need of potential investees, the process of defining an investment strategy for impact investors, learning about the functioning of Impact Investing Funds, to an introduction to different actors and instruments in the field. Two fully packed and interactive days together with inspiring experts and a broad diversity of participants."
